Welcome to the twenty-first edition of the Intersect Development Report!
This edition highlights Intersect’s governance, our community, and working groups, as well as updates on our Constitution and much more. Let’s jump straight into the update!
Member Survey
Intersect officially kicked into gear in December 2023, after incorporating as a member-based not for profit organization. Ourfive pillars remain our focus points, centered on three core themes:
Supporting Cardano's governance,
Facilitating Cardano's product roadmap
The annual budgeting process
As we pass the halfway mark in 2024, we'd like to hear from members about their experience in Intersect. What's going well, what should be improved, what should stop, and everything in between.
This survey is an essential tool to collect your feedback, enabling us to align our services with your needs and expectations. Your insights are crucial for enhancing our offerings and ensuring you derive maximum benefit from your membership.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and help us continue to improve and make a meaningful impact.
Community
Discord
Throughout Q3, we will be making significant updates and upgrading to our Discord server - enhancing our member experience. Over the coming weeks, you can expect:
Increased transparency: Our new committee categories will give you direct access to committee updates! Committee chairs are encouraged to share news and information about them in a public announcement channel;
Facilitation of communication: Making sure your opinions are heard is one of our top priorities. Community members will be able to chat directly with committee chairs and participate in discussions related to their latest updates through our new committee public chat channels;
Self-serving integrations: As part of our decentralization and education initiatives, we are exploring automation and AI integrations within the server to help current and future members self-serve and contribute faster and more effectively to the Cardano ecosystem. The integration will undergo major testing and customization, ensuring it can provide the community with what it needs.
As for our temporary adjustments, we’ve moved all new channels and categories below the previously existing ones to keep active channels uninterrupted. We’ll keep you updated both here and in Discord directly. Stay tuned!
Community Hubs
Our Community Hubs continue to grow and are fundamental in encouraging collaboration in Cardano worldwide.
Last week, our CoinCeylon (Sri Lanka) Hub held its first Town Hall, with 14 attendees. You can watch the recording here. Our LATAM Hub held its second Town Hall with 69 attendees.
This week, we have the following events taking place:

We are excited to announce the final 50 workshops where the community can help draft the final Constitution. With 98 applications to review, it was a highly competitive process, and with funding limited to 50 workshops, thank you to everyone who applied to host a workshop.
The complete list of workshops is here. We’ll be supporting the 50 hosts with onboarding and training, and next week, we’ll share a Luma calendar and ways to connect with hosts directly.

The grant to update the Cardano-Transaction-Library to support new Conway primitives and implement a CIP-95-enabled wallet connector is underway. The successful implementation of this proposal will benefit Cardano transaction library users, who will unlock the ability to interact with CIP-1694 primitives via CIP-95 wallet interfaces. Milestone 1 (Sterilization support) and milestone 2 (Core types implementation) achievements can be found in our grant project space.
Governance tooling
Last week's release of GovTool includes enhanced capabilities to empower our community in governance processes. Users can now propose governance actions, engage in discussions to refine proposals, and seamlessly submit them for voting.
Teams are now working on the improvements and fixing the reported issues.
SanchoNet Govtool participation dashboard is available on participation.sanchogov.tools. From this dashboard, everyone can keep track of Govtool usage and participate in its testing.
And here are these week's updated SanchoNet stats:
Notice to SPOs - node updates
Following the recent attempted spam attack, a reminder to all SPOs that two node versions have been made available: the 8.9.4 hotfix and version 8.12.1, which you can review on our repositories here.

This new steering committee is intended to underpin the wider governance of Intersect as a member-based organization, and to better cross-pollinate ideas and improvements.
One of the first outputs from this meeting was the first Committee report, released on June 28th. You can read this report here.
